Dear East Ramapo Community:
Welcome to the Elementary Education link. We have many things to be proud of that we would like to share with you.
The Elementary Education department is comprised of nine elementary schools, and an Early Childhood Center (ECC). All of our schools have outstanding staff members who care deeply about our district and its students.
Each school operates under an Action Plan that is based on the eight factors that affect student achievement. These eight factors are:
- Teacher/Administrator Expertise
- Instructional Organization of the School
- Parent and Family/Community Engagement
- Curriculum Rigor and Alignment to Standards
- Effective Use of Student Achievement Data
- Supplemental Educational Opportunities
- Providing Necessary Instructional Resources
- High Expectations of Staff/Students/Parents
These plans are written and updated in collaboration with the school staff annually, based on the specific needs of each school. Please feel free to visit any of our elementary schools and ask to review this plan.
Our goal is to bring every child to his/her potential. A large part of this effort is focused on our outreach to parents and the school community, as we are aware that we cannot educate our children in a vacuum.
We encourage you to come to your child's school and stop by the Family Resource Center to meet the coordinator. Your FRC coordinator attends many of our school - wide events and is prepared to answer any questions you may have.
We urge you to review our district calendar, as well as the notes sent home with your children on a regular basis so that you can partake in the many activities that are available to families in our schools.
The administration of East Ramapo is here to serve you, and we welcome your comments, questions and concerns.
We wish you and your child a successful school year.
Yours truly,
The Office of Elementary Education
