  • Nobles married Stinkards
  • When a Great Sun  died, his wives were killed because they believed that they would join the Great Sun in the after life
  • The Great Sun's feet was never to touch the ground.
  • He was either standing on top of a temple, or carried on a mat.

The Natchez...

  • Were skilled in basket weaving and po ttery
  • They used spears and knives to catch their food

  • The Natchez people would create their clothing out of the bark of a Mulberry Tree

Government
  • Four principal clan mothers or 'Law Keepers' are responsible for maintaining the cotinuity of the tribe and all judicial functions.
  • Tribal affairs are managed by the Great Sun and the Principal War Cheif, the Great Sun's right hand.
  • The 'Great Council of Suns' is the ultimate decision making body for the entire tribe.
